Happy Campers

We went camping this past weekend with our Church. We headed northeast to Hurkey Creek Campground which is right near Idyllwild. We had a fabulous time frolicking in the freezing cold river, playing in the big grassy field, riding bikes, having a water balloon fight, roasting marshmallows, singing to the Lord and freezing our buns off. It was a bit colder at night than we were anticipating...low 30's. The only one who really was freezing was poor little skinny bones, Jaedyn. Between his horrible allergies (which worsened with the dry cold weather) and not being able to breathe and just plain not having enough layers on (bad mom!) we actually made a last minute decision and headed home early at about 9pm on Sat. night. Despite my frozen toes, Jaedyn's frozen body and my broken camera lens (I know...tragic) we had a blast and will return again next year for the annual GVC camping trip!












All campers take note...we shared our site with some friends of ours who cooked us up a special treat. Pillsbury rolls wrapped around a dowel....

Jaedyn lucked out...the water balloon did not explode!











Jaedyn assisted David during our worship time on Sat. night....the rest of the kids danced around on the stage. Video clip to follow...

POPSICLES!

The Glow Stick Frenzy

One of our favorite activities...going into the bathroom with our glow sticks in the pitch black and waving our glow sticks around like crazy. Come on....you know you want to try it. Just be prepared...after waving these suckers around with the door shut you'll burn about 500 calories in 10 minutes! :)

Mother's Day Tea

I had a very relaxing morning with these wonderful moms on Mother's Day. Allison invited me over to her grandmother's house for a special mother's day brunch and tea party. It was delicious, relaxing and wonderful all at the same time. Allison's mom made different kinds of finger sandwiches, quiche, scones with homemade whipped cream and jam, different kinds of teas and some other treats. Thank you again my friend for making me feel loved. :)

Happy Easter...a little late!

This year we decided to put a nay on the RB Community Park Easter fight for your life to get an egg hunt and instead stayed within our condo community and had a nice, calm egg hunt with some of the neighborhood kids. We did an interesting version of the limbo, tried to balance a ball on a wooden paddle, had a potato sac race and the morning ended with the egg hunt.











On Easter day we went to Church and then Rob took Jaedyn to see STOMP which he absolutely loved. Allison had Easter brunch over at her house with her family so Ashlyn and I joined in with the Gharsts (again...thank you!!!!) for some yummy food. As you can see from the picture below Ashlyn adores her little friend Lilly and had a super fun day hanging with her little buddy.
