A little this a little that...

For Christmas last year we got the kids a butterfly catching game...it involves an elephant trunk spewing out little pieces of polyester fabric which are supposed to be the butterflies. They love it an it's actually a great tool for building up hand eye coordination.

We haven't had too many hot days, but for the few that we have had these guys love breaking out these little tubs and making them into their little pools.

Some afternoon reading...
We're still trying to figure out what Ashlyn's going to be...definitely a singer and quite possibly a guitarist.

A random assortment

While my camera lens is being fixed (totally tragedy...I have realized how spoiled I have become with my 60D) I have had to bust out my ancient camera. Soooooo...best thing ever on a hot day...splash park....

Ashlyn finally getting her turn at Jaedyn's drumset...

and...drum roll.....Jaedyn finally grew out of his teeny toddler bed and we decided to get him a bunk bed. To say that he's excited about his new bed is an understatement.

And of course....two big thank yous...one to Greg Gharst for picking it up for us and hauling it back to our condo and the other to Rob who worked his buns off to put it together the day we got it so Jaedyn could sleep on it that night!

Forgotten pictures.....

We headed downtown a couple of weeks ago for a change in scenery. We stopped by Seaport Village for some frolicking around which included a ride on the carousel and on our way home accidentally found this cute park downtown while trying to find the highway and decided to get out and frolic some more. (please excuse the crappy lighting and blurry focus....I was using my old point and shoot camera)

Open House @ Jaedyn's Preschool...

We had an open house at Jaedyn's wonderful school this past weekend. It was very fun watching Jaedyn dig in to all of the activities to explore. Ashlyn showed up with Rob at the very end and this was my only one photo of her. :)

Threading a needle through a button...

Playing with a giant block of ice...

Drumming...

Cutting a blob of gobbly gack...

Saying hello to Clifford and his teacher, Mrs. Turner.

Pretending to be David..on the hunt for Goliath!

Flutterbies...

Butterfly jungle @ the Wild Animal Park. Karson was feeding the Lorikeets while Ashlyn watched closely.

And a random favorite that I took of Ashlyn last week....

Happy Campers

We went camping this past weekend with our Church. We headed northeast to Hurkey Creek Campground which is right near Idyllwild. We had a fabulous time frolicking in the freezing cold river, playing in the big grassy field, riding bikes, having a water balloon fight, roasting marshmallows, singing to the Lord and freezing our buns off. It was a bit colder at night than we were anticipating...low 30's. The only one who really was freezing was poor little skinny bones, Jaedyn. Between his horrible allergies (which worsened with the dry cold weather) and not being able to breathe and just plain not having enough layers on (bad mom!) we actually made a last minute decision and headed home early at about 9pm on Sat. night. Despite my frozen toes, Jaedyn's frozen body and my broken camera lens (I know...tragic) we had a blast and will return again next year for the annual GVC camping trip!

All campers take note...we shared our site with some friends of ours who cooked us up a special treat. Pillsbury rolls wrapped around a dowel....

toasted to perfection.....take out dowel....

insert item of choice..for Jared...a sausage...for me Nuttela and peanut butter!! Yummmy!

Jaedyn lucked out...the water balloon did not explode!

Jaedyn assisted David during our worship time on Sat. night....the rest of the kids danced around on the stage. Video clip to follow...
