The Christmas Morning Explosion

Christmas morning was fabulously fun here at the Crocketts. Jaedyn woke up first and was quite eager to open up the presents, but he patiently waited about 15 minutes until Ashlyn woke up. They opened their presents....new umbrellas, some fighting swords, a new helmet for Ashlyn, a big boy bike for Jaedyn and some new slippers for both. We then opened our presents from everyone back east (BIG thank yous to all of you for your thoughtful gifts!) and headed outdoors for some Christmas day sunshine!

Ashlyn's stoked on her new boots and Jaedyn's stoked on his new umbrella!

Rob got this crazy rad shirt from his Dad and Barbara...you can actually play the guitar on the shirt.

One of Ashlyn and Jaedyn's favorite toys...a little dog that rolls around laughing hysterically when you tickle him.

Jaedyn tested out his new bike..he did really well for his first time, but he's going to need a bit of encouragement. He informed us that he's going to send the bike back to China because they need to fix it. (hmmmm, this sounds like someone else I know)

One cool feature on the bike is that it has pegs for another rider...aka Ashlyn!

Chef Nancy at your service...

We celebrated Christmas Eve with a delicious make over of Thanksgiving dinner...turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing and homemade apple pie and pumpkin pie all cooked by Chef Nancy Crockett herself! Yummy!!!

Oh Holy Night

Twas the night before Christmas and Jaedyn informed me that he was going to come out in the middle of the night to meet Santa while he was at our house. I reminded Jaedyn that Santa might come at midnight, 2am, 3am, 4am, bleh, bleh, bleh....we just don't know. This was enough information to convince him that it wasn't worth waking up for so we proceeded to leave Santa an apple bar and a glass of milk and off to bed Jaedyn went.

Going backwards....

The week before Christmas I was ready to start building an ark in addition to an anti-germ bubble suit. The phrase "it never rains in San Diego" definitely doesn't exist anymore here. I'm not sure exactly how much rain we have gotten this month, but I do know that it's way more than the norm and the fact that the Lake across the street from us went from being almost bone dry to now completely filled up tells you something. On one of those rainy days when Jaedyn spent the day in bed with a barf bucket Ashlyn and I decided to cover ourselves with stickers. This was all fun and games until the very end when Ashlyn grew very tired of the picture taking and wanted full control of the camera.

Random Happenings

Lots of love flying around here at our house now that my parents have arrived.

One of our favorite little Christmas items...a teeny music box with a snow man and ice skaters skating around to "We Wish You A Merry Christmas".

We had so much rain this past week that it was unbelievable. We did lots of indoor activities one of which was making play-doh.

And our lovely tree which is smelling up our place just wonderfully!

Merry Christmas!

LEGOLAND with Grammy and Pop Pop

Groupon is quickly becoming one of my favorite things. We got the deal of the century to Legoland through Groupon this past week. Half off the original price, plus you get to go again if you just validate your ticket once you get into the park. So we all jumped on this deal and headed there on Thursday of this past week which ended up being a perfect, sunny, crowd-less day. We had tons of fun...so many smiles and lots of giggles.
