Father's Day Fun

For Father's Day we went to a summer concert series in one of our local parks. It was a Beatles cover band in a local park not far from us. We all had a blast!

Jaedyn stood glued to the stage 90% of the time while everyone around him had a dance party. At one point some random women (I think they were a bit tipsy) tried to dance with him. He looked at me, smiled and then ignored them and went on staring. That's him in the picture above right smack in the middle.

Ashlyn on the other hand kept Rob very busy. She decided to do laps around Poway Park and visited just about everyone who had a lawn chair for her to help herself to. Here was a rare moment of about 5 minutes where Ashlyn and Jaedyn were together dancing.

Jaedyn trying out his new super power...the stare.

Friends.....

Matthew....one of my former student's brothers...

Popsicles!

Lilly!

Gracie and her boy, David came over for some dinner and some Wii fun!

Wild Animal Park

We visit the Wild Animal Park a lot seeing that it's right near us. Somehow all of this time we have missed this little water section of the park and stumbled upon it on this particular day. Jaedyn was having a grand ol time using the pump while Ashlyn came by and decided that she also wanted a try at it.

I had to take a picture of the elephants through the fence so please excuse the line going across it. But look at all of those little elephants! There was a baby explosion at the park!

I love how Jaedyn is working his head off pumping the pump in this video.

The Rockin' Crocketts

It's more than likely that if you come and visit us you will be welcomed with a wonderful song of some type by our children. Ashlyn has now taken up every instrument available in our house just like her brother. Jaedyn is still drumming not only on his drum set in the garage and his make shift drum set in the house, but he continues to drum on everything else as well. I haven't decided whether or not this is a blessing or a curse. If it's not his fork it's his hands. If it's not his hands, it's the straps on the seat. It's like he constantly needs something to do with his hands that involves smacking it on random objects or drumming in the air. Actually it is very fun to watch as he becomes more musical. He's just starting to listen to the music rather only to himself when he's drumming so I'm pretty sure he'll have his first debut at our Church in the near future. :0)

A toddler's life....

Jaedyn is explaining to Ashlyn that the leaf that she just picked is still living and that she really shouldn't have made that choice.

Telephone..one of Jaedyn's favorite playground games.

Playing "restaurant". This is Ashlyn's order of chicken. :)

Jaedyn and Ashlyn are starting to play together a ton which is so fun to watch. Ashlyn LOVES him to pieces and follows him around like his little shadow. Here Jaedyn is helping her get off the slide as it's a big drop down. Thankfully he let go of her feet just in time! I thought for sure she was going to land on her bottom with Jaedyn still holding onto her feet.

The climber in action...

Looking at Ashlyn to be sure she's watching...

Saying hello to the ducks, turtles and fish. This also happens to be the spot where Ashlyn decided to fall into the pond last week. She did a swan dive head first into the bacteria filled loveliness. I grabbed her ankles (the only items out of the water) and hoisted her little body out. Sadly she was drenched with dirt on her face, in her ears and in her hair. She didn't cry a bit, but stood there dripping saying "no, no, no".

I'm not sure where my little Jaedyn went. He looks so big in this picture. :(

"Tommy Turtle"
Watch out!
A re-occurring event....the bowl on the head trick. This evening it was blonde hair ala baked beans.

So Ashlyn has already entered the teenage years. She is slowly becoming Miss Picky Pants. The first glimpse of this new season was with her shoes. You grab one pair and she pushes them away saying "no" and points to another saying "this". I can deal with this because she doesn't have very many pairs of shoes and most of her shoes are super cute hand me downs from her little large footed friend, Lilly. Well on this particular day she decided that she wanted to wear this red and black bathing suit. I had another one in my hand and there she is as you see in the picture saying "this, this, this!" and then "pretty, pretty, pretty". Are you kidding me? Is this my child?

I have been having lots of fun playing with my camera settings lately. I love these over exposed shots of her that emphasize her beautiful blue eyes and that perfect soft skin.

Still sleepy...

I think it might be time to buy Jaedyn a mini pool for our patio!

Ashlyn as I have mentioned is the climbing queen. Those little short legs have no limits in the climbing world. Her new favorite activity is to climb on the kitchen chairs. On this particular day I disappeared for a mere two seconds and came back and there she was standing on the chair playing with the answering machine.

My little gardener...

She is finally growing some hair! Yipppeeee!
