The Great Outdoors

Jaedyn, Ashlyn and I spent a late Friday afternoon hiking to a nearby stream that's just a stroller ride away. I get a little antsy at times with our lack of a backyard, especially now that Jaedyn and I are becoming more active. But I am so grateful that we live within such close proximity to these little outdoor presents from our fabulous Creator!





Ashlyn with her eagle eyes found a bee...a nice, dead, flat as a pancake bumble bee.



We have wild rosemary coming out of our ears around here....Jaedyn decided that after sniffing the yummi-ness he was going to sample it as well.

Huckleberry Finn has grown to LOVE rivers, sticks, trees, and all of those other fabulous things that God has created!

Meet Giovanni Russo: Guinea Pig #1

Most of you know that I love to take pictures! I was thrilled this past weekend when someone at our Church grabbed me and asked me if I would take pictures of her little boy who just turned 2. Having only taken pictures of Jaedyn and Ashlyn, I was quite nervous on one hand but so excited and really flattered on the other. Our little photo shoot lasted about 15 minutes after this little burst of energy got totally soaked in a nearby fountain, but I had a blast and was pretty happy with the results. Here are a few of my favorites....

The last hoooorah!

The day before Grammy and Pop Pop's trip back to Rhode Island we ventured over to La Jolla to play in the sand and find some sea creatures. Jaedyn was thrilled to find some anemones, crabs, seals and identify his first barnacle. Ashlyn made friends with a crab (below) and enjoyed dipping her toes in the water. Thanks for the fun times Mom and Dad. We miss you and look forward to your permanent return!

Ranancula what?

We paid a visit to the lovely Rananculus flower fields in Carlsbad, CA this past week. You just can't be gloomy around these gorgeous flowers and colors. If I had it my way I'd like to just plop my sleeping bag right in the middle of one of these rows and become one with the flower fields!

Freckles and lashes...2 of my favorite things.

Instead of spending money on a water table I decided to make our own water table last week on a hot sunny day. These guys played in the plastic container for close to an hour and had a blast. I couldn't resist breaking out my macro lens for some cute takes of those little freckles and eye lashes that I find irresistibly adorable.
