Wowsers
What an awesome day it was in La Jolla watching the waves this past week. We heard the waves were going to be over 12 feet so we figured we'd go take a peek. It was incredible....the booming sound, the turquoise colors, the spray, the huge waves and just the fury of that raging ocean. Unfortunately I do not have a wide angle lens (and I learned it is quite challenging to capture the beauty of a wave) so you can't appreciate what we saw in person with my photos, but trust me when I say that it was truly amazing.
This is the spot where you can walk out and say hello to the seals. For obvious reasons it was closed off.
And of course I couldn't resist a couple of photos of my favorite friends...flowers. :)

A Rainy Day with Pop Pop and Ga Ga
To say that my parents couldn't have arrived at a worse week as far as the weather goes is an under-statement. We have gotten more rain, wind, thunder and lightening this past week than we have gotten in the past 2 years! The weather has been absolutely crazy here from trees falling down to tornado watches. Despite the weather we are all having fun and are enjoying having "Pop Pop" and "Ga Ga" within walking distance. It is WONDERFUL!
A blueberry pancake party at their cute little condo.
We found this bow next to our dumpster in a violin case. Just as we figured Jaedyn is having a blast with it. For share day on Tuesday at school he brought in the guitar and the bow inside of a violin case (which is quite large by the way). I placed it in the share box next to a couple of other share items like race cars, stuffed animals and a book and had to laugh to myself. The director saw the giant item and came over and said to Jaedyn "Holy cow! What did you bring in?" And Jaedyn very nonchalantly said "Oh, that's just my instrument. It's a bow and my pretend violin". She and Jaedyn's teacher and his classmates thought it was pretty cool. The other 4 share days Jaedyn brought in the "Musician's Friend" catalog his pretend trumpet, a harmonica and his music book. If Jaedyn doesn't end up being some kind of musician I'll eat my socks!

Sea World
For Christmas Jaedyn, Ashlyn and I used our Christmas money from Grampy and Barbara to purchase a year pass to Sea World. It was super fun with lots to see and lots to touch. Jaedyn got to touch a dolphin and Ashlyn touched the manta rays. They also have a new section with a gigantic climbing structure for Jaedyn. Ashlyn hung out with Karson and Lilly while I climbed up some serious ropage with Jaedyn!

Flowers and Freckles
Santa brought me a new lens for my camera and I'm officially in love with it. I can't wait to actually use it somewhere other than inside of my condo, but in the meantime here are some pictures that I took this past week. It's nice for profiles and super nice for colorful flowers. Thank you, Santa. :)
I took this when poor Ashlyn had the stomach flu. This just about sums it up right here.
If Jaedyn could have Patches glued to his lips 24 hours a day, I think he would have them permanently affixed.

Happy New Year
We spent New Years Day at the beach in Del Mar per Jaedyn's request. Rob was just starting to feel better and apparently the stomach flu was just getting ready to secretly to attack the rest of us. Anyway it was super fun, but the best part of all was the absolutely amazing sunset. Without a doubt it was one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen (and if you know me well enough..I am a sunset stalker). Happy New Year!
A fun game of chase...one of Jaedyn and Ashlyn's favorite games with Dad.
From start to finish...it just got better and better. It was not only the most beautiful sunset, but the longest most beautiful sunset EVER!
