The Birthday Girl Part 2

After a fun day at Karson's Birthday party we celebrated Ashlyn's birthday with some pink cupcakes. Jaedyn and Ashlyn gobbled them up and then we ventured over and opened Ashlyn's presents. We gave her a little stroller and a new baby which she loved. I think she probably did about 50 laps back and forth from the living room, through the dining room and then into our bedroom and then back again. She loved it!

The Birthday Girl part 1....

So we celebrated Ashlyn's 2nd birthday this weekend. Unfortunately poor Rob got slammed with food poisoning so he wasn't in the picture a whole lot and we ended up canceling her party. :( We did manage to have lots of fun though and thanks to Karson whose birthday is 2 days before Ashlyn's we still had a birthday party even though technically it was Karson's party.

Karson had a jump house at her party which was a total blast. Aside from eating those delicious cupcake ice cream cones above Jaedyn and Ashlyn spent the majority of their time jumping in it.

Lilly bean...

The other birthday girl...Karson and a nice shot of Ashlyn's back side.

Sunshine Acres, Mesa Arizona

As most of you know I escaped to Mesa, Arizona on a solo trip a couple of weeks ago. My brother, Greg and sister in-law Amy live there at an amazing place called Sunshine Acres. It's a place that takes in children from the ages of 5-18 that are from broken families that are seriously struggling. The kids can live at Sunshine Acres for as long as it might take for their families to get back on their feet. Some children stay for a year, some kids stay until their 18. They each live in a beautiful home with 7-10 other children and a new mom and dad. I was able to meet some of the kids and most of the house parents while I was there. It's really an awesome place with people who have literally given up their lives to love and care for these children.

Chef Greg cooking up some amazing chicken masala. YUMMY!!!

Pava...the dog that they rescued and brought home with them from Ecuador.

Because of the ridicuously hot weather we were very limited as far as our outdoor exploring goes...we did however find this gem of a place....a super cute Organic Farm.

And back at the homestead I took a walk one day for probably 15 minutes..I was determined to get some pictures of something while I was there even though it was unbearably hot to be outside.

They have horses on the property....the kids take care of them and get to ride to them.
