The 4th of July...part two. :0)

After our fun day at the Del Mar Fair and the parade (sorry no pictures..I was at home with Ashlyn for her nap) we then decided to sweat our butts off and hiked up Twin Peaks Mt. with the Gharsts and another couple of friends to watch the fireworks. It was a fabulous evening watching several sets of fireworks from near to far.




One of my all time favorite pictures for sure...Rob and the kids and my best friend and her family. So bummed that I'm not in it. :0(

I'll be the first one to admit that I know next to nothing regarding the art of shooting in the dark. Next year I'm going to knock your socks off with some fireworks pictures (or at least I hope I will), but for now here's my measly attempt. :0)

The 4th of July...a day of firsts

We raced around like maniacs on the 4th of July. Cruised over to the Del Mar Fair in the morning. Raced home to drop Jaedyn and Dad off for the Rancho Bernardo and then busted up Twin Peaks Mountain for some smores and fireworks. It was a super fun day, but to say that we were exhausted is an understatement.

Jaedyn and Ashlyn went on their first horse/pony rides...

We went on our first ferris wheel ride per Jaedyn's idea. I'm pretty sure this will be my last. Between the height and the rickety metal structure let's just say Rob and I were a little uncomfortable.











Jaedyn and Ashlyn had their first taste of cotton candy. They both liked it although at first Ashlyn was quite skeptical because of its fuzziness. $5 later for a small bag and a mouth full of cavities and we can check that experience off the list.









We took a double decker bus back to our car. I thought the small amount of Ashlyn's fuzzy little hairs were going to blow right off her head!
