Wild Animal Park

We busted a move on over to the WAP for about the 900th time since we have lived in SD. Let me tell ya...as many times as I have been there it never gets boring....although in the summer it does crowded! As far as Jaedyn and Ashlyn...these guys love the animals, but the little water squirting section with the grassy area is always a big hit as well.

I wish I had this on video...Ashlyn was busting out some serious dance moves on this little hill.

Yoooodeeelaaayydeeeewhooo!

The biggest bird I have ever seen. Ever.

Two of the lions were sleeping right up against the glass. The picture of course doesn't do any justice to the size of her paw.

Jaedyn earned himself an ice cream this past week and decided to cash in on it at the Wild Animal Park. As he was enjoying his delicious reward I was trying to convince myself that it's the principal that counts not the fact that I just threw down $5 bucks for some ice cream on a stick. Yikes.

River Rats

We took a nice hot walk down to the Lake Hodges River this week with our buds, Allison and Lilly bean. The girls decided to strip down and go for a swim while Jaedyn did a lot of insect viewing (there were lots of dragon flies). Allison caught a tadpole which was almost a frog..I think he just had to lose the tail. Here's a picture of Jaedyn holding the little guy.

7 days....6lbs

I had my first attempt at a newborn shoot last week and holy cow was it way harder than I thought it would be. Between the pooping, the eating, the projectile vomiting, the sweat dripping off my face (you have to turn the heat way up for these little naked babes) and this little peanut who just would NOT go to sleep for me it was quite a challenge. But boy oh boy was she cute!

A little bit of everything...

We headed back to Lake Poway for another concert a couple of weeks ago. This time the Gharsts joined us for some fun for a 50's rock n' roll band. I did not have my camera on me so I stole some pictures from Allison's blog of Lilly and Ashlyn dancing the night away. :)

Ashlyn with the latest in hair styles....hair a la something sticky.

Some book reading with Mom and Dad!

Finding different "treasures" around our condo...

Jaedyn's sunflowers are blooming on our patio...

Patio Fun

We took advantage of a toastie day last week and took a dip in the little pool. Jaedyn, Mr. String bean lasted about 5 minutes in the pool (keep in mind that the water was filled with about 10 buckets of nice warm bath water) and Ashlyn was a fish. She didn't want to get out and was having a blast with Jaedyn and then without Jaedyn.

Ashlyn had so much that after we got dressed and I was cooking dinner out on the grill she snuck by me and jumped back in the pool!

Meet the Grayson Family

This past weekend I spent about an hour with this family (one of my playgroup friends) and her extended family. I took tons of pictures and did a lot of posed positions (per their request). But my favorite photos to take are those fabulous candids that reflect so much personality. Here are some of my favorites from the day.

Definitely the most challenging of all of the photos...the big one! I learned a lot just from trying to take this one picture.

July 20th, 2010

We had a fun day celebrating Jaedyn's birthday this year. He got to make lots of decisions on his birthday starting with breakfast. He wanted pancakes followed by a trip to Sea World. We spent the morning there visiting his favorite exhibit (the shark one) and ended our time there with some play time at Elmo's Bay play area. We ended the day with some macaroni and cheese (Jaedyn's favorite thing to eat) with a trip to Coldstone for a birthday ice cream treat. Thanks everyone for all of the fun gifts!

A fun musical guitar card...

A dinosaur that hatched over a 24 hour period of time (even I thought it was cool!)

New drumsticks... A new book about volcanoes...

Video at Coldstone below....he looks totally stressed. Not sure if it was the candles that wouldn't light or the fact that the ice cream looked so good!
